Spring Rehearsals!

Drumline specific info below:

Drumline audition music:

Warmups:  (played twice each, once at 90 bpm, and one at 110 bpm)

16 on a Hand

McDiddle

One Up One Down

Triplet Diddle

How the West was won:  Measure 37 to the end

Audition notes:

  • Flams and Diddles - if necessary, these can be omitted.

  • Tenor patterns - if there is a pattern that is more challenging, I want to see what you can do with it, and if needed, that part can be played on a single drum for the audition.

  • Bass drums - play the full bass part the first time on warmups, and then play the split part of your choice the second time.

Audition notes:

  • Snare - anyone interested in playing snare needs to audition on snare

  • Tenors - anyone interested in playing tenors needs to audition.

  • Bass Drum - anyone interested in playing bass drum

If you are auditioning for snare and/or tenors, a separate bass drum audition is not required.

If you are interested in Snare or Tenors only, you should audition on both.

Due to band size, percussion section size, and the needs of the band, the instrumentation of the drumline can vary from year to year.  Auditioning for one instrument does not guarantee placement on that instrument.
