A Homecoming to Remember: Meeting Reid Wiseman
Dulaney Marching Band got the experience of a lifetime on Friday, 9/18.
During the school day, our drum line was invited to take the stage as part of Reid Wiseman's homecoming tour. But the real highlight happened between the assemblies, when the drum line got the chance to jam with Reid himself!
Reid grabbed a snare, jumped right into the line, and played alongside our students - like no time had passed since his own days on the drum line.
During the assembly, Reid shared that he had only planned on doing marching band for one year, but during the spring banquet he looked around the room and realized all his friends were there, so he continued all for years. Seeing him return to Dulaney and pick up the sticks again was a pretty incredible reminder that the experiences our students are having today can stay with them for a lifetime.
This memorable day didn't end there for our students. In the evening, our band donned their uniforms and marched from Pot Spring Elementary to Dulaney High School, performing for the many families and community members who came out to watch. From sharing the stage with a former Dulaney drum line member who went on to become an astronaut to marching through the community themselves, it was a day our students wont soon forget!
