Dulaney Drum Majors Bring Holiday Cheer to the 2025 Festival of Trees

Over Thanksgiving weekend, the Maryland State Fairgrounds transformed into a winter wonderland for the 2025 Festival of Trees, and two familiar faces proudly represented Dulaney’s marching band program. Drum Majors Mazie A. and Ginny W. donated and designed a beautifully themed tree inspired by this year’s field show, “The Captain’s Call.”

Their creation showcased a festive, nautical flair—complete with pirate nutcrackers, miniature pirate ships, and custom Dulaney-branded vessels. The tree stood out as a charming tribute to the show’s adventurous spirit while adding a playful twist to the event’s holiday décor.

The community clearly loved it: the tree sold quickly for $150, with every dollar going directly to support the Kennedy Krieger Institute, an organization dedicated to improving the lives of children with neurological, rehabilitative, and developmental needs.

Bravo to Mazie and Ginny for sharing their creativity, leadership, and generosity—both on and off the field! Their efforts not only showcased Dulaney pride but also helped make a positive impact during the holiday season.
